I was hit by a very elderly lady once, she didnt have a license or insurance. DESTROYED my car. Luckily i wasnt seriously hurt. I ended up having to turn it over onto my car insurance.
She denied to the fullest being at fault, even though she rear ended me at a stop light, so hard it shoved me out into the intersection.
My thoughts? Just because its an old woman doesnt mean she should get a break. If it had been a younger person nobody would be talking about going easy on them.I was in a car accident Saturday, could I have some advice?
Think about how it will affect her and her family if you were to have her license or insurance taken away. She might be put into a home and forgotten about by her family, keep in mind that she was driving herself and her family might not take the responsibility of caring for her.
An accident can happen to anyone regardless of age. I wouldn't bring the fact that she's 80 into the equation and just ask her insurance company to help with the bills, although if it's like in the US, she would be 90 before you can get the insurance company to pay up...
Might be different than in the US....but it is a personal injury matter.....see a dr....get estimate on car damage.....perhaps a lawyer.......be careful re whiplash.....that can be a reoccuring nightmare if not properly taken care of later on down the road.....present all bills to her insurance company....do not settle unless you are sure the whiplash will not present future problems......here in the US, you could possible sue for 3 times the damage.....if you have a 'free consultation' by an attorney, give him a jingle and discuss your options....
take care.......
I'm sorry I haven't got a clue about this, just to say I'm sorry this happened to you, hope things work out ok!!
you should be able also Cary a camera with on your car all the times.
Id tell your insurance agent everything, even the whiplash. Let you insurance work for you. You should get money to fix your ca, and for medical bills. You might want to go to the doctor, too, to check that whiplash out.
You should be able to claim as she is admitting she was to blame.
do seniors have to get checked regularly over there ?
IF you are the innocent, you should ALWAYS file a police report and file a claim against the other driver. Do you have her info?????
if you are seeking $$$ in your pockets, then get an attorney.
