wish me luck:) I am super excited about it. I also still know nothing of the role but the seemed to like me...I've just been casted in a play at uni. It'll be my first, any advice?
Here's a couple things I used to tell my students.
1. Listen to the director.
2. Listen to every word of dialog the other actors are saying, then fit your lines to theirs.
3. After the first few run throughs ask other actors what the think of your Character. Not how well you are acting, but what they think you character is thinking and doing. If they don't match what you believe you are portraying intensify your characterization or ask the director for help.I've just been casted in a play at uni. It'll be my first, any advice?
Have fun with it.
believe me, just try to be yourself.
always smile
break a leg
Congratulations! Relax and go with the flow on a day to day basis. They expect you to learn as you go. As you read through the script, be natural, as if living what you're reading. The directors are there to let you know if they want more feeling, etc, or a different response to the previous readers script.
Go for it!!
If the play has ever been made into a movie watch it.
What is uni.?
Break a leg.
Good luck.
I used to be in plays. I made a lot of friends. It was great.
