I just got a new job as a server and I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for me?

I've never had a server job before and I'm just looking to see how I can max-out my performance. I start Monday and even though I know they're going to train me I still want to preform better than everyone I work with. I'm a bit ambitious.I just got a new job as a server and I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for me?
Always smile, say have a good day, greet them and answer all questions with an answer, even if you don't know it find someone who does. Before you take anything away, ask them if they're all done and do not take anything away before everyone is done: completely rude to some people. Stop by often to ask if everything is okay, do they need more to drink, more sauce, etc.

Also try to get to know them. If it's a group of girlfriends, you can say something like ';Girls night out, huh?'; I find the friendliest waiters who go out of their way to please a customer make the most of the jobI just got a new job as a server and I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for me?
Be extremely polite and attentive. Go check on your tables approx 30 seconds after they start eating to ensure everything is ok or if they need anything else. If you see their drinks are running low, fill a new one, bring it over and take the old one away (don't wait for them to ask for a refill). I wouldn't bother them too much but watch their table and take away empty plates, etc when they are done. I'm sure you'll do great.
Refills.

Talk to the ol' ladies like they are your grandma.

Don't sit with them.

NEVER ask ';do you need change';, just bring it.
