My subwoofers are making farting noises. Any advice on what to do?

Does anyone know why they're making those noises? Is there anything I can do to make it sound better?


I just put them in yesterday. They are a little bit louder, and you can feel the base a little more, but it sounds really awful. Even though it wasn't as loud before I put it in, it sounded nice and even bumped a little bit. Should I take the subwoofers out or risk being embarassed by the weird noise, for more loudness.My subwoofers are making farting noises. Any advice on what to do?
Sounds like they are hitting their xmax or maximum excursion.If they make the ';fart'; sound when you hit a bass note,the sub may be over exerting itself.You either got too much bass going to sub or the box isnt sealed enough or box is too big...or to much power to subs(turn down the gains)....if thats not what you mean...uh check the polarity and make sure positive is to positive and negative is to negative.





also you can check what fequency you have amp set at...you may have it set to high...example 120hz or higher will make them sound like poo.My subwoofers are making farting noises. Any advice on what to do?
The gain isn't set right.





The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp.

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

does it sound destored?...it could be that the subs require more power.....
It all depends. We gotta know what brand/size/model subs and amp first. My guess is that the RMS of your subs and amp aren't close enough.
remove them, its probably because something is touching the speakers and vibrating, kind of like how your anus vibrates when you fart
Get a Pro to tune your amp.
