Why is our advice to others, always better.?

When we talk to other people,we can always see the sense in thier situations, and try to help.

Our emotions are not as involved, and we can take a rational view.

Even though we have the same answers for our own problems,it can not be just emotion that is stopping us from acting on our thoughts. What is it.Why is our advice to others, always better.?
You stated it exactly in your explanation: ';Our emotions are not as involved and we can take a rational view.'; We, the opinion, don't have a 360 degree view of the situation but we, ourselves, know the ';whole story.'; (Does that make sense?)Why is our advice to others, always better.?
Actually it pretty much comes down to emotion. When advising others you are pretty much detached from the problem and can apply semi pure reason. When dealing with your own problems you have to deal with all the emotional baggage that comes with it. I have been called a machine in a crisis because I often have the ability to shut off my emotions. Then I can look at things objectively. It's amazing how smart we are with others and how dumb we can be with ourselves. I often stop and ask myself what I would tell someone else with my problem to do. It's fascinating how easy some seemingly impossible problems become when we control our emotions and just think. Of course no one is that much a machine to be able to do this all the time. That's why we have friends to set us straight!
Yes you can see both sides when your looking at the sistuation.

when your in the sistuation most people want themselves to win or come out on top so weather it's emotions or ego it can cloud your vision!

as an outsider looking in you can see and you have nothing to gain if you choice a side!

if your in the sistuation then you can't see the other side because you want to win. plus when you have already picked a side it's hard to look at the other side with out being a bit stand offish!

Best wishes@!
It is like being a toad in the hole. Hard to see daylight when someone is in the bottom of a deep well.

And from the outside, we have perspective.
Its also easier to give advice than to follow your own anyway.
sometimes we just don't take care of ourselves properly because we don't feel deserving.
Well said.
