This election is tearing our family apart.Any advice on easing tensions with parents who are mean-spirited Republicans?
I am sorry to hear that your parents are bullying you. Republicans are especially nervous because the polls don't look favorable for them. But, if you know anything about politics you know that this is still anyone's race. So much can happen between now and Nov. 4.
The problem is that parents don't realize that by being overbearing they are raising weak children who have a difficult time speaking up and standing up for themselves because they have been oppressed by a its my way or the highway mentality. You probably have not found your voice yet (the ability to with respect stand up to authority).
Can you go stay somewhere for a little while, just to get a breather from your parents? If you can't leave the home and visit other family and friends, try to avoid your parents.
Again, sorry to hear that you are in such a difficult situation.Any advice on easing tensions with parents who are mean-spirited Republicans?
That's ridiculous. The only time anyone cares about what political party you belong to is during an election. This is why you should not talk politics with family %26amp; friends. It's a personal matter of opinion, like religion, that is best kept to ones self to avoid potentially dangerous and lamentable situations.
avoid THEM AT ALL COSTS. iF THEY PRESS IT, TELL THEM YOU;D APPRECIATE IF POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS COULD BE HELD OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. iF THE7Y CONTINUE TO PRESS IN OR INSULT YOU, yOU COULD TELL THEM HOW DISAPPOINTED YOU ARE IN THEM HOW MEAN SPIRITED, UN CRISTIAN ( IF YOU ARE CHRISTAN) THEY ARE, UNKIND, AND FRANKLY, INCORRECT HOW THEY SEE THE WORLD.
Well there are three options.
1. Disregard their views. This is the same as ignoring.
2. Change your views to resemble theirs.
3. Be so persuasive in your points and compel them to adopt your viewpoint.
